The Folks Who Made It Possible

So many people participated in our wedding, thanks so much to everyone who lent a hand
(or an ear...or a cocktail shaker...)!

Master Builders

Marty, Charlie & William. The Master Builders. The Princes of Pine. The Sawzall All-Stars. They go by many names but produce only one thing: yard renovation magic. From designing a hut to carrying hundreds of pieces of lumber to slaying bamboo to playing hooky & building a deck to figuring out how to build a bench with a garden in it to drinking all the beer & eating all the sausage. They can do it all & we couldn't have done it without them.

yard crew

They skinned & bagged bamboo. They carried that weight. They painted it black. They shoveled sand. They planted plants. They sweated. Oh boy, did they sweat. But mostly they offered lots of laughs & great company as we transformed our yard for our Big Day.

MASTER OF CEREMONIES

Michael bore witness to our engagement on New Year's Day 2016 & on Valentine's Day 2016, we baked him a cake, got down on one knee & asked him to marry us. Luckily, he said yes! He proved a shoulder to lean on, an A+ advice giver & a most excellent vow writer. He wore all the hats & was the straw that stirred the drink.

TEAM STEPH

Although we didn't have a traditional bridal party, Steph is eternally grateful for the squadron of ladies who surrounded her on the morning before the wedding (as well as for the last several decades) with friendship, love, advice, creativity, support & comic relief. Couldn't have asked for a better team than Amanda, Rebecca, Rachel, Laura, Katie & Logan.

ALL THE PHOTONERDS

Big thanks to the Phoot Camp phamily for their creative eyes. Our official photographer Kate, as well as the rest of the crew, gave us so many amazing memories of the day!

Alterator Extraordinaire

Steph was determined to acquire a light, summery dress that was definitely NOT strapless but of course ended up with a heavy winter-weight one that was most certainly strapless. Although nobody would have ever known it from Jess's expert surgical sewing work.

DOG WHISPERER

When the furriest family member, stressed out from months of watching her backyard get dismantled, needed a friend to see her over the finish line, there was no better person than Phillip. He watched over her from Friday night until she was reunited with us at the wedding, & made sure she was tucked in for the night. Moxie sends her love & kisses too!

DONUT DELIVERERS

Perhaps the most critical role in the whole operation was the person we entrusted to pick up the official wedding donuts. No thought was required to determine Deanna was the right person for the job, safely shuttling nine dozen donuts from the Lower East Side to Greenpoint. No supervision required (but Pete was there just in case).

CLUTCH PHOTOBOOTH ASSIST

Steph had grand schemes for a colorful photobooth idea that started to seem like too much to handle with 48 hours until go time. Friend & photographer Roger swooped in to provide setup help & even generously lent a bunch of his own equipment so that it could all come together.

MIXOLOGIST

We asked our talented barman friend Nick for some cocktail ideas featuring ginger & cherries, figuring he'd shoot us an e-mail with some tips. Instead he showed up at our door with a full bar setup, including homemade syrups & several recipes for an evening tasting. What a guy!

GUESTBOOK WIZARD

Our lovely guest book was made by Katie, who thoughtfully included photos & gamely adhered to the color scheme in our wedding brand guidelines. She created a beautiful canvas for all our guests to add to.

SOUNDMAN

There's only one person we'd trust to match our wedding's sound to its looks. Broxton came from California to ensure the levels were equalized, the beats were banging & everything sounded just so. Bonus: he'll buy bagels the morning after!

BRUNCH ORGANIZATRIX

If there is something, somewhere that needs a woman with a clipboard, Orange is the woman behind the rigorously-organized, color-coded spreadsheet attached to said clipboard. Quite frankly, executing a post-weddng recovery brunch for 50 is beneath her. We knew she was stooping down because she loves us & her stooping down is one of the many reasons we love her.

CONFETTI CANNONEERS

Which came first? Was it inviting Chad & Chad? Was it having Confetti Cannons? No one knows for sure but what's obvious is Chad & Chad go with Confetti Cannons like a thing that goes really well with another thing.

MISS POP NAILS

Who understands wedding planning crunchtime better than a fellow bride-to-be? When that person also happens to be a talented nail artist who says "cancel your manicure, I'm coming over!" you thank your lucky stars to have a friend such as Simcha.

JUST SOME CUTE DOGS

Moxie & Shasta are the best at being cute but not the best at yard renovation.

Everyman Espresso

There was no way this wedding was going to have sub-par coffee. In fact, there was no way this wedding wasn't going to have a custom-designed coffee drink based on the first coffee Steph ever gifted Dylan. No one could have delivered it, & so damn fine, than our friends at Everyman Espresso.

PitchBlak Brass Band

The wedding band of our dreams. They serenaded Steph down the aisle with Ain't No Sunshine, they led the parade, they blew the roof off the yard & learned Radiohead's The National Anthem - yep, they're the best.

The Cheeky Chef

Linda was totally game with our "&" concept for the floating dinner & equally game to turn all that food out of our tiny kitchen. She's a rockstar specializing in ultra-deliciousness.

Ashley Chamblin

We knew we needed a kick-ass coordinator who got our style to make our Big Day run smoothly & successfully. We hit a home run with Ashley.

PARENTAL UNITS

It would never have come together so swimmingly without the four people who have given us lifelong support through all of our creative endeavors. We love you mom & dad & mom & dad!
